Domestic Violence Policy Officer


IWSA is the peak body representing immigrant and refugee women in NSW. We invite applications from suitably experienced, qualified and enthusiastic people with a strong commitment and capacity to implement social justice principles.

Domestic Violence Policy Officer
35 hours per week
(Social and Community Services Employees Award: Category 4 and Salary dependent on experience)

Essential:
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to migrant and refugee women's issues, the principles of multiculturalism and access and equity. Experience working with NESB women. Sound knowledge of domestic violence issues, government policy and processes and community services. Proven experience in policy development, analysis and review. Demonstrated experience in advocacy and community development. High skills level in written and oral communications. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Relevant tertiary qualifications. Minimum 2 years experience in policy and community development work.

Desirable:

Relevant community language. Training experience. Driver's license.
